Flights to Jordan

The large majority of visitors travel to Jordan by place, which is the easiest, quickest and often cheapest way to get there. There are various airlines connecting Jordan with airports around the world. Read below everything you need to know about Jordan’s airports and where to find the best deals for flights to Jordan.

Airports in Jordan

There are two international airports in Jordan: one in Amman (the capital of Jordan) and another one in Aqaba, near the Red Sea.

Amman Airport

The Amman Airport, Queen Alia International Airport (AMM), is the largest and most frequented airport in Jordan. There are numerous direct flights from European cities such as London, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Paris. If you travel from the USA (east or west coast) or Canada, you will typically have a stopover at an international airport in Europe such as London or Paris, and then continue your journey to Amman. If you are coming from Asia (e.g. India), Dubai is a popular transit airport. Queen Alia Airport is located about 30 km (18 mi) from the city center of Amman. You can rent a car at Amman airport or take a taxi to start your roundtrip through Jordan!

Aqaba Airport

A second international airport is located in Aqaba. Aqaba is the south of Jordan, on the Red Sea. From here, it’s about 300 km (186 mi) from Amman. There are national flights from Aqaba to Amman as well as international flights to some European cities like Cologne/Bonn, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Moscow and Rome.

Which Airport in Jordan to Choose?

While there is normally an abundant choice of flights to Amman, the availability of flights to Aqaba largely depends on the season. Make sure to check both airports, as you might find a better deal for one of them. Most visitors intend to make a roundtrip through Jordan and start their journey in Amman, being close to Amman airport. If you find a good deal to Aqaba and are planning a roundtrip, you can very well start your journey here and travel northwards (from Aqaba to Wadi Rum, Petra, Amman, and finally back to Aqaba).
