Terms and Conditions
§1 Scope1.1. These terms and conditions apply to all business relations between Welcome2Jordan, registered trade name of GerMarketing, Overwegwachter 4, 3034 KG Rotterdam, The Netherlands and buyers of our physical products (books) as well as digital content (eBooks) purchased via the Welcome2Jordan online shop and third party websites (e.g. Amazon).
1.2. Our offer is aimed at consumers. A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for personal, non-commercial use.
1.3. These general terms and conditions apply in the version that was accepted by the buyer at the time of the conclusion of the contract.
§ 2 Conclusion of a Contract2.1. The products shown do not represent a legally binding offer, but a non-binding online catalogue.
2.2. To conclude a contract with Welcome2Jordan, you have to purchase one of our products via our online shop. By submitting your order, you make a binding declaration of intent to purchase the selected item at the displayed price and accept ourTerms and Conditions.
§ 3 Book Price Fixing, Shipping Costs, VAT3.1. The book prices are subject to the legal book price fixing and are therefore not negotiable.
3.2. The prices include 9% Dutch VAT. Additional shipping costs apply for printed books.
3.3. Digital contents (eBooks) can be ordered worldwide. The shipping of printed books is currently only possible to Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Belgium.
3.4. There are no shipping costs for digital contents (eBooks). The following flat rates apply to the shipping of printed books:
- Germany: € 2.95
- Netherlands: € 3.95
- Austria, Belgium, UK, Denmark, France, Spain, Portugal: €5.95
- Switzerland: €11.00
§ 4 Cancellation Policy4.1. If you are based in the European Union (EU) or the UK: The statutory withdrawal period of 14 days applies to all physical content (printed books) during which you can cancel your order without giving reasons. The period begins on the day on which the goods are received by the recipient or have been received by third parties (except carriers). If you are located outside the EU and the UK, there is no legal withdrawal period. If you change your mind after placing your order, please contact us.
4.2. In order to make use of your right of withdrawal (EU and UK only), please send us an e-mail to email@example.com stating your order number. Goods already received must be returned to us within 14 days. Costs of the return shipment are at the expense of the buyer. The purchase price including the shipping costs for the initial delivery will be refunded in full within 10 working days after receipt of the return shipment. Refunds will be made to the payment method you used to purchase.
4.3. The right of withdrawal for printed books applies only to unused items, packed in their original covering. We cannot take back articles with traces of use.
4.4. When purchasing our digital products, you agree that we will begin with the execution of the contract (provision of the download) before the expiry of the obligatory cancellation period and that you will therefore lose your right of withdrawal.
§ 5 Returns and Exchanges5.1. For printed books, there is a legal obligation that allows you to cancel the order within 14 days of receipt of the order or receipt by third parties (except carriers) for EU and UK residents, without giving reasons. If the goods have not yet been shipped, you will receive a refund of the purchase price within 10 working days. If you have already received the goods, please send them back to us. After receipt of the return shipment, you will receive a refund of the purchase price within 10 days. The costs for the return shipment are to be paid by the buyer. If you are located outside the EU and the UK, there is no legal withdrawal period. If you change your mind after placing your order, please contact us.
5.2. Digital contents cannot be returned or exchanged (see also 3.4.)
5.3. Despite careful quality controls, damage cannot be excluded. If you have received a damaged delivery, you can return it to us. You have the choice to receive a new delivery or to get a refund of the purchase price.
§ 6 Payment, Shipment, Ownership6.1. The dispatch of the products and/or provision of the download is only possible after receipt of the payment amount in full.
6.2. We accept the following payment methods: credit card (VISA, Master, American Express), Giropay, Sofortüberweisung, iDeal, Bancontact and Applepay. These are processed by the payment provider Stripe. We also accept payments via PayPal, which are processed by the provider PayPal. The general terms and conditions of the payment providers also apply. For payments by bank transfer (advance payment) please contact us.
6.3. The amount due must be received within 14 days after the order. Welcome2Jordan reserves the right to cancel unpaid or not fully paid orders after this period.
6.4. Printed books will be shipped as soon as possible after receipt of payment. For Germany and the Netherlands the delivery time is on average 2-3 working days, for the rest of Europe it’s 3-5 working days. Digital content will be provided by email after receipt of payment. If you have not received a notification from us, please check your spam folder first and contact us.
6.5. By purchasing our products (physical as well as digital content) you only acquire a license for personal use (see also § 6) of our content. You do not acquire ownership of our content. The ownership and copyright remains with Welcome2Jordan .
§ 7 Transfer and Resale to Third Parties7.1. When you purchase our digital content (eBooks), you acquire a licence to download the content via our platform and copy it to your own device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) for personal, non-commercial use.
7.2. By purchasing our books and eBooks, you do not acquire ownership of the content. It is expressly forbidden to make the content available to third parties, to forward it, to reproduce it in any other way or to make it publicly available, either free of charge or against payment.
§ 8 Copyright8.1. All our works are subject to copyright. The content on our website, social media channels, printed and digital books are intended for personal, non-commercial use only. It is expressly forbidden to copy, reproduce, change or forward our content in any way.
8.2. The copyright also refers to our brand: brand name and logo may not be copied without our written consent.
8.3. In order to present Jordan at its most beautiful, we also use photos from third parties in addition to our own pictures. You will find a list of credits at the end of our books. The sources for images on our website can be found at: www.welcome2jordan.com/image-credits
§ 9 Privacy9.1. The protection of your personal data is very important to us. In our data protection declaration you will find further information on what data we store and how we process it.
§ 10 Disclaimer10.1. The information and recommendations contained on our website and in Welcome2Jordan’s travel guides have been compiled to the best of our knowledge and carefully checked. The use of our content and the implementation of the information and recommendations contained therein is expressly at your own risk. Liability claims against Welcome2Jordan and the author, which refer to damages of a material or immaterial nature caused by the use or non-use of the information provided or by the use of incorrect and/or incomplete information, are excluded.
10.2. Welcome2Jordan assumes no liability for damages caused by transmission errors, technical defects, malfunctions or interventions in the facilities of Internet service providers, as well as for damages (including incidental, special or consequential damages) resulting from the use of the website or the impossibility of use.
10.3. The use of links to third party providers is at your own risk. Welcome2Jordan is not responsible or liable for the content of third-party links.
§ 11 Applicable LawDisputes between the user and Welcome2Jordan are subject to the jurisdiction of the court at Welcome2Jordan’s registered office. Only Dutch law is applicable.
§ 12 Severability ClauseIn the event of any inaccuracies or ineffectiveness of one or more provisions of these terms and conditions, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
